2008年7月27日(日曜日) 第18回下町遠足ツアー「レトロな兵庫☆懐かしのアイスキャンデー編」申込み開始しました What is SHITAMACHI? SHITAMACHI often described as "down-town". It is the area with "traditional and human atmosphere an aspect which unfortunately has been disappearing in Japan. By traditional, we don't mean with temples and shrines, things legitimately "historical". It is rather, implying certain taste during the 50's and 60's, a period just after the WWII when the Japanese economy had high growth and the Japanese were full of vitality !! SHITAMACHI consists of a number of close-knit communities with heartiness and human scale atmosphere. In SHITAMACHI of Kobe, many treasures of good old days still remains despite the severe earthquake hit in 1995. There are two aspects in those treasures. "hard": resources such as old shops, restaurants, bars, sweets' shop, old style "NAGAYA" houses, traditional architecture, old traditional sign and much more… "soft": resources such as elderly people with their wisdom and kind heartiness a human scale and atmosphere, culture and rites… What is RETRO? Generally, the50's culture and the 60's is called "RETRO" in Japan. This era is called "SHOWA-era". In SHTAMACHI, we can find lots of retro heritages of "SHOWA-era". Since 1950's, Japan went from a 3rd world kind after WWII to the economic powerhouse. After such a great development of economy and technology, today, we tend to recall strong nostalgia of 1950's where life style was slow and filled with humanity . |
